Snyder Intermediate School is thrilled to announce the appointment of DeeAnna Blanton as its new principal.
Following an extensive and thorough selection process, Dr. Jessica Gore, Chief Academic Officer of Snyder ISD, expressed her enthusiasm in introducing Ms. Blanton as the new principal. "We had a solid group of applicants, but ultimately, Ms. Blanton’s history as an experienced campus principal who has a history of academic success leveraged on student-centered decision-making solidified our decision," said Dr. Gore.
Ms. Blanton brings a wealth of experience and academic qualifications to her new role. She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Texas A&M Commerce and is working towards her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Texas Tech University. Ms. Blanton began her career in the classroom as a 3rd and 5th-grade teacher before progressing to middle school math and science. With over ten years of experience as an academic leader and principal, she has participated in the Turnaround School Program at Harvard University and has been actively involved in committees promoting rural education.
Expressing her excitement for the new role, Ms. Blanton said, "I am pleased to be able to focus my skills and expertise with the fourth and fifth grade students. I look forward to collaborating with the teachers, families, and students of Snyder Intermediate School to be the best we can be."
Dr. Gore also said, “As the committee was creating the profile of the next campus leader, we prioritized the proven track record of academic excellence and executive leadership that would result in student success. Ms. Blanton has over a decade of experience that exemplifies these qualities. She will be a strong asset to our team of leaders.”
"I’m eager to join and lead the intermediate campus because Snyder is a community that I’ve grown to love (as I spent time with family) and a district that prioritizes students’ growth and well-being above all. I am excited to bring my years of leadership experience to this campus and join our teachers and staff as we lead our students to success!”
Ms. Blanton will begin transitioning into her role in mid-June and officially assume the principal role on July 1st.
