2025-2026 Calendar

calendar

At the July Board of Trustees meeting, Snyder ISD administration presented proposed updates to the 2025–2026 academic calendar. The Board approved the changes, which reflect adjustments to the fall semester.

The primary goal of these updates is to maximize instructional time for students. Each change was carefully considered to ensure students benefit from the most consistent and effective learning environment possible. At the same time, the revised calendar accounts for staff development needs, campus events, and holidays.  There are no changes to the number of days students attend school, staff or student holidays, or professional development days.

2026-2027 Calendar

26-27 Calendar

The Board of Trustees has approved the 2026–2027 school calendar, continuing the district’s Hybrid calendar model.

This year’s calendar reflects thoughtful collaboration and shared decision-making. An internal calendar committee was formed with staff representatives from various campuses, grade levels, and extracurricular programs. The committee was charged with building a calendar from scratch. Over several weeks, members reviewed the current structure, discussed strengths and challenges, and explored new possibilities.

The group developed eight draft options before narrowing the field to two. Families and staff were then surveyed regarding the final choices.

Calendar Option 2 emerged as the clear preference. This option maintains the Hybrid model and provides a more balanced distribution of Hybrid days throughout the year. Sixty-seven percent of staff selected this option, and 60 percent of families aligned with that same choice. Feedback represented voices from across campuses, grade levels, and both employee and non-employee households.

Survey results were shared with the District Education Improvement Council before being presented to the Board of Trustees for final approval at the February 12, 2026 meeting.

Thank you to everyone who engaged in the process.
