Speech and debate students competed virtually last week at the district UIL academic meet.
In prose interpretation, Will Haley was first, Aurora Savedra second, and Shelby Powell fourth.
Baylee Green was second in poetry interpretation, with Allie Beck placing fourth and Madalyn Hernandez fifth.
Temo Olvera was second and Kassidy Sharp, third, in informative speaking; Sidni Hunter, fifth, Lincoln Douglas debate; Sha Wilson fifth and Beyonce Garcia, sixth, in persuasive speaking. Olvera and Sharp will advance to regional competition April 16-17 in Big Spring.
The speech/debate team placed second in district.
